HOLOCAUST Related Correspondence: 6pf Hitler Portrait postal card, canceled GROSS-ROSEN STRIEGAU 4.1.45 (JANUARY 4 1945), addr LITZMANNSTADT (POLAND), sender notes his area as "Blok 4", CENSORED, handstamp on reverse, stains and tears as often, COMPLETELY authentic in all respects, WHILE CORRESPONDENCE FROM CAMPS CAN OCCUR IN ALL PERIODS OF NAZI RULE, the 1945 usages are SCARCE as the Reich army crumbled under two fronts, the camp (GROSS-ROSEN) WAS LIBERATED FEBRUARY 14, 1945 by the Red Army, also unusual as this was CAMP-TO-CAMP MAIL, one can only wonder if EITHER OF THE CORRESPONDENTS MADE IT OUT, FINE AND WORTHY OF MORE RESEARCH. 

THE Litzmannstadt Ghetto was liberated even earlier than Gross-Rosen, just 15 DAYS AFTER THIS MAILING. A RARE AND HISTORICAL SURVIVOR OF ONE OF HISTORY'S DARKEST MOMENTS.
