This Mourning Cover was mailed from Hertfordshire, England to Cambridge England in 1940, franked by a 2-1/2d bright ultramarine Centenary of Postage Stamps issue of 1940, Scott 256 (six days after the stamp, picturing QV & KGVI, was issued). The stamp is tied to the envelope by a double circle date stamp.A wax seal verso features a stag and is intact.
Slit open top, the backflap is sealed and intact. No contents or backstamps.
