Item Description
The American First Day Cover Society relies on two semi-annual donation auctions to provide funding for its activities and services. Every so often a special promotion is run to encourage members to donate items from their collections to help make the auctions a success.That was the purpose of this FDC, which was awarded to donors who met a certain level of value with their donations in 2018. Just 100 of these covers were produced as symbols of the AFDCS' thanks to its generous donors.
Being offered here is cover #99 of just 100 FDCs of the special pop-up cachet that was a 'jam' by two past winners of the AFDCS' annual 'Top Cachetmaker' award - Argineh Zadoorian and Dave Bennett.
Argineh painted the black water dragon and the flying green dragon, and they were combined with Dave's interpretations of the purple and orange dragons, to showcase all four dragons represented on the four stamps that grace this cover. The stamps - issued at the APS StampShow in Columbus, Ohio - received one of the two DCPs offered, dated August 9, 2018.
The cover fits a regular space in your album . . but unfolds to nearly 12" wide when opened up!
