Item Description
A stamp issued by the Guam Guard Mail local post showing the ship _Victoria_. It was issued in 1979 as part of the Ships series.The _Victoria_ was one of five ships of Ferdinand Magellan’s fleet during the expedition to find the Spice Islands (now the Moluccas) in the early sixteenth century. The expedition set sail from Spain in 1519. In 1522, only the _Victoria_ returned to Spain, making it the first ship known to have circumnavigated the globe.
This stamp is in Mint Never Hinged condition. It has dry gum.
