Guam Guard Mail 1981 Local Post U.S.S. SAN JOSE Ship VF-NH, dull gum. Issued for Government Interagency Local mail. Minor imperfections.
_guam issued 'guard mail' stamps in 1930. The local postal service was discontinued april 8th, 1931, and replaced by the united states post office department. Guam resumed issuing 'guard mail' stamps in 1976 and continued through 1981. Their official usage was limited and the stamps were mostly used as cinderellas or christmas seals._
