Item Description

SCV $0.25 (2018). Single 50-drachma overprinted on a 10-lepta stamp depicting a Lady of Tiryns in USED, F-VF condition. No gum. The stamp is firm, its colors are bright, it has a black ink cancellation mark & is surcharged in blue ink. This stamp is the corrected version of this issue. The third word beneath the figure is correctly spelled 'TIRYN' rather than 'TYRIN' as is the case with the uncorrected version. The tax surcharge was levied for the Postal Employees' Welfare Fund. Lithographed, no gum, crowns watermark (wmk 252), perf 12 x13½.
