Item Description
This is the first stamp design issued by Greece. It has an 80 aent value, it is imperforated, carmine to pink color, with the figure 80 on the back. The stamp has the " Typical Course Athens Print" impression, and was minted between 1861-1862. Scott # 15. This stamp does not have any visible watermark, there is no gum, and it was hinged at one time, though there are no remnants of a hinge. As can be seen by the photos, the stamp was obviously cut at a slant from its original sheet, leaving very little margin along the top, and very narrowly cutting into the printed area along the right side. Otherwise, the rose-pink printed area is nearly fully intact. This is a rare stamp that would be a great addition to any collection. Please review the two photos thoroughly.Seller Information
