Item Description
This is the first stamp design issued by Greece. It has a 1 aent value, imperforated, chocolate brown color, with no figures on the back. The stamp has the " Typical Course Athens Print" impression, and was minted between 1861-1862. Scott # 8. This stamp does not have a watermark, there is no gum, and it does appear to have been hinged at one time, though there are no remnants of a hinge. There is some obvious damage to the left side, as can be seen in the photo, where some of the paper missing. As a result, this stamp, though very rare, is being offered for bid at a very low starting price. In any event, it would be a very nice addition to any collection.Seller Information
