Item Description

This item is postally used King George VI definitive stamp issued in 1942. Listed in Scott as GB #262a, this stamp is an ordinary World War II-era definitive issued to pay the basic international letter rate between two Universal Postal Union countries at the time of issue.

This stamp shows a variety relating to the watermark. The watermark "G VI R" with a crown normally read right side up with the stamp is flipped over to the back side. The "watermark sideways" version shows the watermark text turned 90 degrees relative to the normal orientation. CV $10.00
