Germany, Scott #546 (Michel #927), used (o), 1946, Allied Government Numeral Issue, size: 18x22mm, perforated: 14, watermarked: deutsche post in mirror-imaged, reverse printing, multiple lines, falling (Scott watermark #284, Michel wasserzeichen #Wz 6x), 25 pfennigs, orange yellow, Scott 2022 catalog value: $1.10, slightly off-centered, four strike cancelled, two in black ink and two in red ink, the main black inked cancel, nearly complete classic full circle, black-inked, double-rimmed, socked-on-the-nose cancel with mailing details bridge and nearly complete mailing details over the main image {(OF)FENBURG 2, 10.7.47.-18, U}(mailed from Post Office #2 in Offenburg on July 10th, 1947), Offenburg is a city in the state of Baden-Württemberg in the southwest of Germany near the French border with Strasbourg, the second red-inked cancels are possibly US military cancels from the use of the American term "Munich" for the German Müchen, sound back, front cancels show through to the back, hinge remnant, penciled, incorrect Scott, identification mark and valuations on the back, one short perforation on left side at middle, otherwise good perforations; unique cancels warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch' offering. The stamp you see will be the one you receive.
