Steuer cert Nr. 948 (Jyly 25, 2000) reads in part, "Der zur Beurteilung vorgelegte Briefteil VORLAUFER DEUTSCHE POST IN CHINA frankiert mit 2 waagr. Paaren MiNr. V46c 5Pfg blaulichgrun, Entwertung: SHANGHAI 14/2/98" ist echt. Es handelt sich um einen Ausschnitt aus einem portogerecht frankierten Bedarfsbrief, der mittels Barfrankatur am 11.FEB.98 bei der chinesischen Post in Chefoo aufgegeben wurde und nach Ubergabe an die deutsche Post in Schanghai am 14.2.98 entwertet wurde, Die Vorlage stammt aus einem Brief des deutchen Konsuls Dr. Lenz und befindet sich in guter Erhaltung. Alle Stempel, insbesondere der sehr sauber aufgesetzte sog.Dollarchop von Das dekorative und seltene Stuck blieb unsigniert und ist auf Blatt zwei dieses Attestes in Farbe abgebildet." Translated as The part of the letter submitted for assessment, "FOREHAND GERMAN POST IN CHINA franked with 2 horizontal pairs MiNr. V46c 5Pfg bluish green, cancellation: SHANGHAI 14/2/98" is genuine. It is an excerpt from a correctly franked letter that was posted to the Chinese post office in Chefoo using cash franking on 11.FEB.98 and was canceled after being handed over to the German post office in Shanghai on 14.2.98. The template comes from a letter from the German consul Dr. Lenz and is in good condition. All stamps, especially the very cleanly applied so-called dollar chop from The decorative and rare piece remained unsigned and is shown in color on page two of this certificate. Sent 1898, stamps are sound, cover piece in as is condition. Base shipping with insurance is $5.00 domestic and international. Purchases at/over $49.95 must be insured.
