Germany 18 Different Inflation Stamps Plus 4 Inflation Banknotes
These original stamps and banknotes are from the Germany hyperinflation period of late 1921 thru 1923.
You can see how fast the inflation accelerated. From 1921 to early 1923 postage only increased from a few Marks to several hundred Marks. But by February 1923, 200,000 Mark banknotes were necessary, and by August they were printing 1, 10 Million and 50 Million Mark notes and stamps.
Near the end of this period, before currency reform, a wheel barrow full of current barely bought a loaf of bread!
When hyperinflation was really raging, they didn't even use ink to print the backs of some notes!
A few of the unused stamps have lost their gum over the last 100 years.
The banknotes are used.
Very historic and great for framing.
