Item Description

This listing is for a single, postally used stamp issued for use in the colony of German Southwest Africa (Deutsch Sudwest Afrika) in 1898, and consists of a diagonal "Deutsch- Sudwestafrika" overprint on a then-current definitive stamp of Germany.

The stamp is listed in Scott as #8, and has a face value of 5 pfennig. Scott 2020 CV$4.00

Please Note: This one has toned gum across the top edge of the stamp.

German Southwest Africa was a colony of Imperial Germany from 1884 until Germany lost all her colonies as part of the peace settlement that ended World War I. The neighbouring British colony of South Africa took over the colony, running it as “Southwest Africa” until independence in 1990. The former colony is now the Republic of Namibia.

Paypal, Money Orders, and Checks payable in the US are accepted. Credit cards accepted through paypal only. Checks must be drawn on a US bank, or I cannot cash them! (I can no longer accept Canadian Postal Money Orders, even those in US dollars-sorry!)

Return Policy:

International: 14 days from the 7th day after the item is sent.
