Item Description

The stamp in this listing is a stamp issued for use in the German Post Offices in Morrocco. This stamp is a part of the 1905 issue of the German Offices in Morrocco definitive series, which has the word “Morrocco” and a new value in Spanish currency (both in “Frakturschrift”) overprinted across the stamp. This stamp is printed on paper watermarked with diamonds (Watermark #125 in Scott, Wasserzeichen 1 in Michel). As such, this stamp is listed in Scott as #33, and is postally used. CV $2.00

Morocco was one of several nations which had foreign nations operate postal services on its’ soil. The nations which operated postal services in Morocco prior to 1899 specifically included France, Spain, and Great Britain.

German extra-territorial post offices opened in 1899. In the the French zone of Morocco, these closed in 1914, once France and Germany declared war on each other. In the Spanish zone of Morocco, the German post offices remained open until June 1919 owing to Spain’s neutrality in World War I. All German overseas post offices closed all closed in the aftermath of Germany’s defeat in World War I.

Return Policy:

International: 14 days from the 7th day after the item is sent.
