Item Description

The item in this listing is a single mint hinged postage stamp issued for use in the German crown colony of Kamerun in 1900. Listed in Scott as #17, the stamp has a face value of 2 marks.

Kamerun was occupied by the British and French during the First World War. Most of the of the colony became a French colony, and gained independence as Cameroun in 1960. Other parts of Kamerun were joined to other African colonies, notably Nigeria and Gabon.
