The astronauts : Virgil ( Gus ) Grissom and John Young rode the "Mollly Brown" space capsule around the earth for 4 hours and 53 minutes before splashing down in the Atlantic Ocean where the astronauts and space capsule were picked up by the USS Intrepid ( CVS-11). This cover has a R/S ship cachet and machine cancelled on board the Intrepid on 03/31/1965 - the day of recovery. This cover is unaddressed and franked with a regular issue stamp.
