France, Scott#5479, used (o), 2018, Marianne of Digan and Catelin (Marianne, the Committed), stamp shows a determined and committed Marianne; since the start of the Fifth Republic in 1958, it has become the practice to allow each incoming French president to choose the design of the Marianne stamp to be used for the remainder of the president's time in office; in July 2018, President Emmanuel Macron unveiled the new postage stamp with his choice of Marianne; according to the press release from the Elysee Palace it was to be “une Marianne déterminée, énergique, qui est ancrée dans le XXIe siècle et qui se projette dans l’action” (A determined, energetic Marianne, anchored in the 21st century who throws herself into the action); the stamps were designed by Yseult Digan, a prominent French street artist, who goes by the name ‘YZ’ pronounced ‘eyes;’ she wrote that her aim was to create a Marianne that was driven by impulse to act, and that she derives her beauty from her courage, independence, and energy; the stamps were engraved by Elsa Catelin of the French state printers; 1 euro, orange, perforated: 13½, no watermark, Scott 2019 catalog value: 25¢. Off-centered, quarter circular, single-rimmed, black-inked, socked-on-the-nose corner cancellation with partial mailing details at the top left and into the central image, sound back, good perforations. This is not a 'bait-and-switch' offer. The stamp you see will be the stamp you get.

Also, if you make additional purchases from my offerings, they can all go in one mailing at no extra shipping expense for the added purchases. I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
