France, Scott #839 (Yvert and Tellier #1119), used (o), 1957, Tourist Series showing Scenes of France, stamp shows the 14th Century Valentré Bridge in Cahors in the southwest of France; the bridge is a six-span fortified stone arch bridge with three towers crossing the River Lot to the west of the city and has become a symbol of the city; 70 francs, engraved, perforated: 13, dark green and black, Scott 2019 catalogue value: $1.60. Very slightly off-centered, quarter circular, black-inked, single-rimmed, quarter clockwise turned, socked-on-the-nose corner cancellation on the lower right and largely clear of the main image, sound back, good perforations; centering and largely image clear cancel warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch' offer; the stamp you see will be the one you receive.
