Humphrey DeForest Bogart, born in 1899, began his career as an office boy and worked his way
to Broadway acting roles. He moved to Hollywood in the early 1930s to begin working in sound films.

During his quarter-century career, Bogart left a legacy of 75 films.
Renowned for his acting roles in The Maltese Falcon (1941) and Casablanca (1942),
he won the Academy Award for his role in The African Queen (1951). Bogart died in 1957.
