FIRST DAY COVER John Singleton Copley 150th Anniversary of his Death 5c #1273 FLEETWOOD Unaddressed FDC 1965

* Nice, clean example of 1965 First Day of Issue of Scott #1273 5c stamp honoring the Portrait Artist John S. Copley

* Engraved FLEETWOOD cachet in black ink on white cover features:

* a vignette of a painting of George Washington and his family above a vignette of Copley
* "Commemorating / JOHN / SINGLETON / COPLEY" above
* "1738-1815 / Famous American Portrait Artist / First Day of Issue" at bottom

* Postmarked "WASHINGTON, DC / " at top / bottom with "SEP / 17 / 1965" in center

Condition:Front and rear of cover are clean. Clean FDC postmark; does not obscure stamp in any way. Minimal, if any, discoloration. No creases, tears, or folds. Single stamp affixed. FLEETWOOD cachet. Open flap with unblemished gum in mint condition.
