Item Description
The Bufflehead Local Post really did start out as a working local post. Named after the Bufflehead Ducks that called the lake outside our studio their home, the BLP was created to carry my coworkers' mail to the Post Office which was several miles away.This is a FDC, postmarked in Agoura Hills, CA on the first day of issue of the first BLP stamp -- a 1¢ single of the post's namesake duck. It is officially franked with a 3¢ Wild Turkey single and a 29¢ Buffalo Soldiers single from the previous year that is a Plate Number Single. The stamps are cancelled with the first use of the BLP 'Parcel Canceller'.
The cover contains a stuffer that explains a bit about the stamp issue on the cover.
The BLP is on hiatus as a working Local Post, but I have so many remaining BLP stamps that - should you win this lot - will grace the envelope in which I send it to you!
