We are disposing of the estate from an incredibly active collector. This former cpa/cfp was very detail oriented and seems to have documented everything he purchased. For those of you who been buying from us for decades, our staff will remember this estate for a long time. Not only did it weigh well over 1,000 pounds, but the collector appears to have saved his receipts for almost every stamp in his outstanding collection. What is even more remarkable is that he likely acquired all his stamps from only 4 very well-respected dealers which gave us an amazing insight in why every stamp appears to be perfectly identified. We have posted an ultra high-definition (1200 x 1200) scan of the front and back of the actual stamp. Please read our feedback, we enjoy a 26+ year reputation of excellent descriptions, images and exceptionally fast shipping. Of course, we stand behind every stamp that we sell. The overwhelming majority of our listings sell very quickly. The fascinating story of coil paste-up coils the production of the first coil stamps, dating in the united states from 1908, began with the flat-plate-press printing of normal stamp sheets which contained the standard 400 images. The sheets were then gummed, perforated in one direction only, and cut in the other direction into twenty strips consisting of twenty stamps apiece. Strips would subsequently be pasted together to produce coils of 500 or 1000 stamps. At each join, the paper from the end of one strip would overlap the beginning of the next (the overlap is termed a "paste-up tab"). A pair of stamps that straddles the joint is known as a paste-up. Paste-up coils are statistically exceedingly scarce and highly collectable. A word about us, we have been selling on Hip for 26 years. As you may have seen from our listings, we sell larger philatelic and numismatic holdings in conjunction with various estate trustees. We work with these trustees to price everything fairly and ethically (please read our feedback) and we always have an exceptionally low buy-it-now price to promote a quick sale. Only actual photos are shown with this listing. We enjoy an excellent reputation and we pride ourselves in a very large percentage of repeat buyers for our estate collections. The accuracy of our listings is of paramount importance to us and to you. If you see any errors in our listing, please send us a message and we will quickly correct any error.
