Item Description
Both letters are approximately 8.5" x 11"Both letters, one from and one to, are concerned with mining leases. One letter is signed by Myers. Myers was a prospector who had staked some of the earliest and richest claims in the region and named the region. After a district organization was created, he became its chief executive. One of the gold veins he discovered was so rich that his stock quickly jumped in price from just 12 cents/share to over $80/share. It's said that his mines produced three to four million dollars worth of ore. He allegedly once beat up Death Valley Scotty. Additional information about Myers will be provided.
