Goodacre & sons, russell road, london, england. There are at least four russell roads in england. Manuscript 'insufficient address' returned to sender and closed with type 14 seal. This is the earliest known usage reported for the type 14 seal. (king george vi type 14, crown 5, officially sealed in the post office', size 81 x 24 1/2, line 1 55mm, line 2 45 1/2mm eku 6/16/1949) sent 1949, beautiful as is condition. (seals by definition were used to repair damaged mail caused by a wide variety of conditions and found in a wide range of condition.) this cover appeared in the exhibit of the late jim kotanchik's gold medal award winning exhibit, "official seals of great britain" the exhibit was probably last shown at westpex in 2009. It is possible that some of the information contained therein is no longer current. Jim kotanchik was a highly regarded expert in worldwide seals.
