Item Description
The Claude C. Ries Chapter of the AFDCS holds an annual BBQ Party every Summer where Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and Stamps are the main attraction.For many years the club gathered at the Pasadena home of the late, noted cancellation specialist Frederick Langford. Covers were always created and handed out to all attendees - in 2003 the then-recent Football Heroes issue was used to frank the covers, and inspired the cachet depicting Frederick as a rambling running back, his trademark white ponytail flapping behind him!
The cover was cancelled in Pasadena, CA (site of the party) on August 16, 2003. We all still miss you, Frederick, even though you ran the ball back the wrong way!
