Item Description

This is the mint, never hinged (pristine) original gum 19th Century Bureau of Engraving and Printing Imprint and plate number strip of three small banknote issues, which is for sale. The stamps are exceptionally well centered for the issue and appear nowhere near their age -- 126 years!  This strip of stamps features the bust of President George Washington as well as the Type III triangles in the upper design corners. According to the Durland Standard Plate Number Cataloge, Plate #232 is of the imprint IV variety. Please study the scans and decide for yourself, before buying.
