Item Description

This is 6-pence British Colonial issue from Australian state New South Wales, which is for sale. Despite the stamp clearly having faults, it is a nice example of the mid-value Queen Victoria design (possibly the best design of the empire -- IMHO) and features a well-struck "N.S.W." oval killer cancellation. The watermark stands out well in the reverse image. The watermarks of this series were actually the same as the numeric value of the issue in which it was applied. Obviously, the faults detract but it will make a nice space filler for a slightly more expensive issue.
