Item Description

Nice Strawberry, Cal, to Franklin County, Maine, cover with a faint strike red city-date cancellation and a smudged manuscript marking on the stamp. Strawberry, California, which is in El Dorado County, became a popular recreation site during the 1850s. The stamp is sound and well adhered and the cover very clean despite the original recipient's rush to open it by tearing into the lower edge of the envelope. Please study the images for clarity, color, condition, cancel, and centering.
