Item Description

This Roman States lot includes the glazed 1867 imperforate issue (#13 with faults) and a private reprint of the 1868 perforated #20 (faults). Scott editors indicate the 1867-1868 Roman States issues were privately reprinted (apparently it was not an issue for the government of the day) and can be identified more often than not by the perforations. Most of the 1868 perforated stamp reprints are perf 11 1/2 vice the official printing at perf 13.

The imperforate stamp is no gum, while the other issue is full gum, and both have varying faults. Please study the images for clarity, color, condition, and centering.
