This is the 1989 self-adhesive pane of flags Symbolic American Eagles and Shields, which is for sale. The 25-cent self-adhesive postage stamps are the first successful self-adhesives issued in the United States. The first try at a self-adhesive, a 10-cent Christmas issue released Nov. 15, 1974, had adhesion issues the U.S. Postal Service overcame with this design (the one now on sale).
