This is the mint, no gum 1857 Franklin 1-cent postage stamp, which is for sale. Very fresh stamp with great color, about typical centering for this tough issue, and a small fault or two (read below). Identification verified through Scott Publishing's "Identifier of Definitive Stamp Issues" and noted 19th Century philatelic expert Mortimer Neinken's "The United States One Cent Stamp of 1851 to 1861."

Faults/Flaws: Tiny 1mm vertical tear under "NE" of "ONE" and lower left corner perforations may be trimmed. In addition, when "dipped" to check condition there were no thins however held to a bright light there are possibe ULC and center small thins.
