This is the censored U.S. Navy cover now available for sale. The cover is franked with a standard Scott #C25 airmail stamp, which is common, yet this common issue is postmarked just more than a week before Japan's surrender in Tokyo Bay aboard the U.S.S. Missouri. The cover includes the letter from Sailor Corliss Swenson to noted a collector, Mr. A.W. Leslie, of Minneapolis, and notes the sailor's belief that Mr. Leslie would appreciate having the cancel as a part of his collection.

This is a tidy little cover, which was opened at the top edge and has only a tear along the left upper corner as though someone wanted to remove the sender's name ... or more likely was careless in handling. Please study the images for clarity, color, condition, cancellation, stamp, and censors stamp.
