Item Description

This is a clean piece Wisconsin postal history featuring the ever-popular 1850's blue perforated 1c Franklins used to pay the postage probably within the area of Crawford County. The strip of three stamps is tied to the cover face by the manuscript "J" of July in the postal clerk's cancellation of the issues. This is just the face of the cover and the far right margin issue might have a tiny perf fault along the upper perforations. Otherwise, the cover is as imaged and features the more desirable strip of the Scott #24 postage stamp.
