Published in 1951, this NATIONAL PHILATELIC MUSEUM, Vol. III, Number 3, "1851 - 1857 U.S. Issues" features articles, crisp black and white photographs, and detailed stamp design graphics to help any collector better understand the subtle differences a line here or there might make in determining an accurate Scott catalogue number. The articles are written by expert philatelists of the past many of whom have written exacting books in their fields of specialty at this centennial look at the 1851-1857 imperforate 1-cent, 3-cent, 5-cent, 10-cent, and 12-cent issues.
FIRST EDITION, of sorts for a paperback, within the market of philatelic literature. The physical dimensions are about 6-by-9-inches and includes 170 pages of useful classic philatelic information for collectors at all levels.
Many philatelic reference books are collectible in their own right since many renouned hobby experts are now out of print. Most are valued for their collectibility based on condition, rarity, and to some extent their use as a reference. Condition is the key and is highly subjective, so study the images, read the content, ask questions, and work with a reliable collector-dealer to get what you want.
Condition: Well kept paperback, but with a faded cover and some damage to the lower spine which does not impact content.
Please note, payment is expected within three (3) days; thank you. And remember, safe secured shipping is free. This will ship media mail, unless the buyer wishes to pay for a faster postal service.
Every effort is made to generate a stellar experience for buyers and reciprocal feedback is always appreciated. Bookmark the store and check back often for new opportunities.
