Item Description

This is the 1949 Cayman Islands postal history first day of issue commemorative cover, which is now for sale. The Universal Postal Union FDC is a well-kept piece of UPU, British Commonwealth, and philatelic history dating to Oct. 10, 1949. The FDC posted in Georgetown features each of the four denominations issued then in the Caymans under the common UPU commemorative design.

The FDC/city-date cancellation strikes nicely tie each stamp to the cover, while the reverse is very clean.
