Item Description

Denmark (Danmark), Scott #B26 (Facit #401), used(o) semi-postal charity stamp, 1959, Red Cross Issue with the proceeds of the surcharge going to aid the Danish Red Cross ; celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Solferino which resulted in the founding of the International Red Cross by Henri Dunant, stamp shows the World surrounded by a Ribbon of Red Crosses, (30+5) øre, engraved with the red crosses by photogravure, perforated 12¾, rose red, Scott 2019 catalogue value: 50¢. Very slightly off-centered, quarter circular, black-inked, double-rimmed, socked-on-the-nose corner cancellation with some mailing details at the lower right and just clear of the main image, sound back, good perforations; centering and image free cancel warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch' offer; the stamp you see will be the one you receive.
