Item Description
Denmark (Danmark), Scott #151 (Facit #190), used, 1918, Wartime Contingency Stamps, Newspaper Stamps Surcharged for Postal Use, 27 øre over 29 øre, black on orange, perforated: 14x14½, 4th watermark: multiple crosses (Scott watermark #114, Facit vassermarken Kors), typography printed, Scott 2019 catalog value: $14.50. Very slightly off-centered, light, crisp, quarter circular, black-inked, single-rimmed socked-on-the-nose corner cancellation with partial mailing details at the lower right and largely clear of the central image, sound back, good perforations; centering and largely image free cancel warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch' offer; the stamp you see will be the one you receive. At $14.50 used versus $3.25 mint, you have to be concerned about a forged cancel; however, though nicely centered, the stamp does have a distinct mailing details cancel {Gude(rup). 14.9 (September 14th), forgers generally select perfectly centered mint stamps for their purposes and apply non-descript border cancels to their stamps. This stamp with good mailing details, thought nicely centered, is most probably a validly used stamp.
Please review my terms of sale. If you are not ordering from the United States, there is a $US1.40 additional postage expense that needs to be added to the price of the stamp. If you are ordering from the United States, there is only a $US0.60added postage expense. Also, if you make additional purchases from my offerings, they can all go in one mailing at no extra shipping expense for the added purchases. I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
By way of reference, I am an American Philatelic Society member (195176) and an American Stamp Dealers Association (ASDA) member. Thank you for looking, and I hope this is the perfect stamp to fill that gap in your collection.
