Item Description
Here's a cover that reuses a cachet from the very first Bennett CACHETOONS set - the BISON cachet from the 1987 North American Wildlife sheet of 50 different birds and animals! The cachet was originally printed in black and brown, but has had a bit of handcoloring added by the cachetmaker.Using the 22¢ cent Bison from that set, and the 18¢ Bison from the 1981 booklet of 10 Wildlife stamps, the cover was sent to BISON, OKLAHOMA and received their four-bar cancel on August 8, 1988. It passed through the mails, which accounts for the faint routing imprint on the reverse.
It was made for a buffalo-lover, and as a momento of the first Cachetoons issue! It's a one-of-a-kind item!
