A great opportunity to pick up a complete collection of Katanga!

The complete country collection of 88 stamps all Mint Hinged.

On the bottom of the first page there is a different used stamp in one place. That is because there is a variety of the 8F stamp with KATANGA printed at the top instead of the bottom. There is no copy of this extra variety.

I recently purchased an estate lot that came from a family that lived in The Congo in the late fifties and early sixties. They had purchased mint stamps at the post office and they were still in the tropical packaging that the post office supplied to separate the stamps. There were large quantities of some of the stamps as well as used on paper and some letters.

This was a very tumultuous time in the region after Congo received independence and many parties were fighting for control of the huge natural resources that the country holds.
