Each year the American First Day Cover Society honors a celebrated cachetmaker with inclusion in their long-running 'Court of Honor' series. 2005 saw the 25th honoree to be given given this accolade - cartoonist and FDC enthusiast Dave Bennett!

The honoree is asked to design a cachet pertinent to that year's Christmas issue, which is then printed and serviced by the Society. 2005's Christmas stamps were a block of four celebrating Christmas Cookies - and Bennett chose to show Santa and his reindeer baking these holiday staples.

Alas, the AFDCS-printed envelopes were a disappointment, and the cachetmaker made an augmented version of the cachet . . . and that's what is offered here

This cover bears all 4 of the Christmas Cookie stamps, which received the official pictorial First day of Issue cancel from New York City on October 20, 2005 (which also happened to be Bennett's 26th wedding anniversary!)
