Cayman Islands, Scott 19; Stanley Gibbons 19, used. 1907 1p on 5s salmon & green KEVII, horizontal strip of 3 fiscally used with m/s J.W. Hunter cancel written across the strip, fresh, strong colors, well centered and VF. An exceptionally pleasing and scarce use of this issue. Accompanied by a 2011 APS Certificate. 2015 Scott CV: $1,575.00 as 3 singles; 2015 Gibbons CV: £1,200.00 as 3 singles. Until 1908, when the new key plate issue inscribed POSTAGE & REVENUE came into use, government officials were required to use the postage stamps inscribed POSTAGE / POSTAGE for fiscal purposes. Technically, these issues were to be used for postal purposes only, however, some of the high value 1907 issues did get pressed into fiscal service, and even the Georgetown Provisionals of the Cayman Islands saw fiscal usage.
