scarce and rarely seen or offered
ISSUED 79 YEARS AGO

This stamp shows a french Canadian hero Lambert Closse (1618 -1662)
defending Fort Ville-Marie, Nouvelle-France (which later became Montreal)
against the attacks of Iroquois Indians circa 1650. He finally was killed by
them in 1662. (see Wikipedia for more details)
