Item Description

It is the first time I come across a used imperforated Sc 89, like everybody out there. They say none have been spoted so far. It was canceled with a roller cancel machine used at the beginning of the 1900's. It looks pretty convincing with its large margins and the absence of dents on all edges that would show it was trimmed (you would need a stamp with huge margins to be able to completely cut off perforations). It seems someone used an imperforated mint copy for postage not knowing it would create a rarity. As with all imperforated stamps, it would be fantastic if it came in a pair. This stamp comes from a very old dealer lot I purchased more than 50 years ago. It was in a glassine with the mention '' What the f*** with a question mark . Investigate''.
