Item Description

Canada, Scott #1638 (Stanley Gibbons #1724)(Michel #1616Do)(Yvert&Tellier #1508), used (o) booklet stamp, 1997, Publicizing the ‘Québec en Fleurs ’97', an annual International Horticultural Exhibition, stamp shows a Blue Poppy; a short-lived flowering plant native to China, valued as a ornamental, but is notably difficult to grown in a normal garden as it prefers an evenly cool temperature, shaded light, and an acid soil that remains reliably moist; 45 cents, a booklet stamp from the top, internal row, perforated: 13x12½, imperforated at the top, perforations at sides and bottom (IPPP), offset lithography printed by Ashton Potter (Canada) Ltd., fluorescent paper, water soluble gum, no watermark, blue, yellow, and green, Scott 2025 catalog value: 25¢. Nicely centered (superb), faint, quarter circular, black-inked, single rim showing, socked-on-the-nose corner touch cancellation at the lower right and well clear of central image, sound back, good perforations; centering and image free cancellation warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch' offer. The stamp you see will be the one you receive.
