Item Description

This is a space filler as it has a hole - see photo. Scott #A6, catalog value $50.00 (Classic Specialized).    Stanley Gibbons #6, catalog value €38.00 in 2010.

The 1895 Star and Crescent issue is often considered a local, as it was not valid for postage outside of Brunei.  Long recognized by Stanley Gibbons, Scott now lists it in its "Classic" catalog.  A 1973 booklet by famous philatelist Robson Lowe (3rd photo) states that "erroneously, these stamps have been called "locals", but the Star & Crescent stamps are the first general issue of the Brunei Post Office"

I have many others from this issue to list, primarily used, which are scarcer.  And a full sheet or two.
