British Local Stamps Guernsey Sark 1965 Europa SR 73-77 MNH Full setCatalogue numbers are from early 1970s edition of "Catalogue of British Local Stamps"Please see scans as these form part of the description.The GPO mail between Guernsey, Sark and Alderney was carried by ships of the Commodore Shipping Company, which also ran a local parcel service. The shipping company operated the only cargo/passenger services between these islands and in 1954 type-set labels, which were locally printed, were introduced as a convenient means of collecting freight charges on small parcels and packages shipped to Sark. These types of labels continued in use until July 1961. Then pictorial stamps continued in use up to 1968.
