Item Description

Benjamin harrison, a plantation owner, farmer and one of the original 56 signers of the declaration of independence in 1776. He was born 4/7/1726 in charles city co., va, and represented the state of virginia at the time of signing the declaration. This event cachet cover was part of a series produced by fleetwood in 1976 and sponsored as the official commemorative of the philadelphia '76 commision. The cover is un-addressed, open flap and postmarked on a date significant to the signer (usually signer's birthday and place close to birthplace)
