British Commonwealth Occupation Force used in Japan stamp, described in the Australian Commonwealth Specialists' Catalogue (ACSC) as Catalogue Number BW J1k with variety "Second A of JAPAN and 4 in wrong font". An image is provided to compare the overprint on this stamp with the ACSC image. The stamp is ½d King George VI definitive Kangaroo issue of 28 January 1942 (BW179, SG179) with three-line overprint B.C.O.F./JAPAN/1946. Mint. ACSC Sixth Watermark (small multiple) / SG watermark W 15.Alternate catalogue number: Stanley Gibbons does not list this variety, but the basic BCOF stamp has catalogue number SG J1
