Apollo 14 Moon Landing 02/06/1971 Cape Canaveral, FL AP-14 VF-ADD Cachet maker: Astro covers These covers commemorate the Apollo 14 Space Mission with 3 astronauts: Alan Shepard; Stuart Roosa; and Edgar Mitchell. Alan Shepard and Edgar Mitchell made the 4th moon landing on 02/05/1971to the Fr Mauro Highlands and gathered 90 pounds of geologic specimens, explored the Cone Crater and other experiments before lifting off the Moon in the Antares LM to the Command Module where Stuart Roosa remained orbiting around the Moon. The crew splashed dpwn in the Pacific Ocean on 02/09/1971 where they were recovered by the USS New Orleans ( LPH-11). These covers were cancelled at Cape Canaveral, Fl - by Astro Covers.
