Item Description
AmeriCover is the annual convention of the American First Day Cover Society, and every year - following the Saturday evening Cachetmakers Bourse - a special late-night buffet is held to feed the hungry cover makers that have gone without dinner!This year AmeriCover saluted the centennial of the National Parks Service . . . and this cover, which was given out to the buffet attendees, features the Night Owl himself, sharing sliders with a Nat'l Parks Buffalo!
The cover bears the single from the Nat'l Parks sheet of 16 stamps issued in early June that shows buffalo silhouetted in front of Old Faithful. It is canceled with the special AmeriCover pictorial cancel from August 20 in Falls Church, VA that also shows buffalo and Old Faithful.
p.s. the sliders were delicious!
